Syd aka “Syd Tha Kyd” (not to be confused with Sid the Kid) is previously known for being a member of the band The Internet who’s genre is classified as neo soul. Syd’s music had previously gone unnoticed to me because of her genre but this new single’s synth sounds and drum kicks brings it into our wheelhouse of music taste. Her debut solo album, Fin, is out today February 3.

Toronto native The Weeknd is back with another big featured artist – Daft Punk. It’s the first single off his upcoming third album by the same name “Starboy” out November 25th. Shakka hails from London, England and broke out onto the music scene in 2013 when he did the vocals for Wretch 32’s hit Blackout. He’s known for having a dub reggae/hip hop/pop sound. This new single is off his upcoming EP titled The Lost Boys which drops October 16. This one sounds good turned up in those headphones.

More recently his previous single, a remix of Beyonce’s Drunk in love beat has racked over 18M listens on SoundCloud.
